I was born and raised in the city of San Francisco during the 1960s. I remember going to civil rights protests as a kid, inspired by the movement and excited to learn, train and fight for economic justice! In this fight, which has endured for more than 500 years, I’ve realized the power of entrepreneurship as a shield to divert the blows of structural and systemic racism and as a sword to slash wealth and income disparities.

By designing and developing ecosystems that circumvent systemic and structural barriers, Othello ensures that equity is not just a checkbox but strategically integrated into the systems that drive economic development, public investment, and wealth creation.

Our mission is to empower under-resourced entrepreneurs to thrive in their local economies, creating living-wage jobs, business assets, and strong communities.
